My Story
He is a Banker, Realtor, Politician, Philanthropist and Theologian, who was born on the 10th of September 1960 into a royal family of Oto in Lagos Mainland, Lagos State. Rotimi was appointed as a treasurer of Junior Chambers International-JAYCE, a leadership training organization and also a Treasurer of Full Gospel Business International (FGBMFI) in 1985.Rotimi later proceeded to a Theological University, Central Christian University, North Carolina, USA in collaboration with Faith Christian Theological Seminary in Sango-Otta, Ogun State in Nigeria between 1994-2006 where he graduated with a Doctorate in Theology. He also obtained a Masters degree in Counselling in the same University. He eventually became a Professor of Theology in the Satellite campus of Central Christian University, Baltimore in Maryland, USA.
As a realtor, he is the Executive Director of Ajayi-Apata Properties & Investment Company Limited, a property company managing a 250 Hectares of land in Lekki, a highbrow area of Lagos State. He is a Nation Builder who ventured into politics in 1987 to empower the less privileged. He contested for the post of Lagos State House of Assembly under the aegis of Social Democratic Party (SDP) in 1993 after holding various offices in the party. He was also a Board Member of Frederick Democrats in Frederick County, Maryland, USA in 2012-2013 which engendered his visit to the White House in Washington, USA to represent Democrats in Frederick County, Maryland. He was a member of Board of Trustee of Providence Peoples’ Congress (PPC) in Nigeria and was unanimously supported to run for the Governorship of Lagos State in 2018/2019, but he declined. In the 2022/2023 Nigerian general elections, he was nominated as a Member of the Presidential Campaign Council [PCC] of the Labour Party [LP].
Rotimi is presently the President and CEO of Water of Jesus Foundation– a faith-based NGO providing boreholes and generators for communities in Lagos State, with projects in Alimosho, Ajegunle and Oko-Agbon communities in Lagos. As a strong believer in the defence of the Jews and Israel, Rotimi founded Ambassadors of God to Middle East Ministry, through which he has severally crisscrossed Israel and Nigeria while supporting numerous Jewish charity organizations and Individuals such as Beadchaim (Israel Pro-life Association), International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ), Joseph Project, Friends of Sion Museum / Jerusalem Prayer Team and Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast, et al. As an advocate for the strong bond between Jews and Christian Relations, Rotimi has so received a special invitation from the Chairman of Knesset’s Christian Allied Caucus – Robert Ilatov, to attend the Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast (JPB) in June 2019, 2020 and 2022. He is happily married to Dr Lucy Surhyel Newman, has three adult step sons and a teenage daughter.
