Pan African Trade Conference - CONFERENCE NEWSLETTER

WELCOME!

Welcome to the information site for our
 8th Annual Pan African Global
Trade and Investment Conference

Our 2018 Pan African Trade and Investment Conference conducted from September 27 - 28, 2018 at California State University Dominguez Hills and The Leimert Park Village was an outstanding success.

We sincerely appreciate the support and positive energy of everyone who contributed to re-establishing the conference at California State University Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) and our second year at the Leimert Park Village possible. We express our special thanks to the CSUDH School of Africana Studies, the CSUDH Provost's office, the Mervyn Dymally African American Political & Economic Institute, the CSUDH Innovation Incubator, the CSUDH Entrepreneurial Institute, the CSUDH College of Business Administration & Public Policy, the African Market Place Inc., the Consulates of Kenya and Ethiopia, and the Sixth Region Diaspora Caucus (SRDC) for serving as anchors, organizers and presenters at the 2018 conference

The convening of experts, professionals and resource specialists at the Leimert Park Village for the 2nd year provided current information about the State of California's EB 5 foreign direct investment program. Presentations included representatives from the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development, the City of Los Angeles Promise Zone Program, the Leimert Park Village Association, the Carson Creek Ranch Food & Agriculture Center and the consulate of Kenya

We also sincerely appreciate the support and recognition we received from the City of Sacramento's special unprecedented resolution designating the week of September 23-30, 2018 as Pan African Trade & Investment Week. We also received special recognition and resolutions from the California State Senate and the California Legislative Black Caucus. These honors have paved the way for our next conference to be convened in Sacramento in 2019 and the opportunity to develop a proposal to establish bilateral trade agreements with Africa and the Caribbean.

The Africa-USA Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AfUSA) values the opportunity to engage in collaborations with California State University Dominguez Hills, the cities of Sacramento and Los Angeles and the California Legislative Black Caucus. As a direct result of our accomplishments in 2018 when our conference is convened in Sacramento in 2019, with the support of the California Legislative Black Caucus and the Governor's Office of International Affairs and Business Development, AfUSA will be at the forefront of linking the state of California to bilateral trade and investment with the Caribbean and the African continent.
